I would like to know when I should trim my Holly Bushes?
Also I would like to know if there is a Holly Tree?
When to trim Holly Bushes
American hollies can become large trees, the others are smaller trees and large shrubs.
You can trim hollies any time of the year. And, yes, JCalhoun is correct that American hollies, Ilex opaca, can become quite large trees, and there are cultivars that would be hardy in your zone. The main thing is to protect them from winter sun and winds. On the north or east side of a home, or in a location with afternoon shade from nearby evergreens, they do well. They also do not tolerate poor drainage. Check with a reputable garden center or nursery in your area to see what they recommend.
