There seems to be mixed opinion on that. I've been told not to use the alfalfa sold for rabbits because it contains salt, whereas the alfalfa used for horses does not. That being said, I've used both...the plants didn't seem to care, they loved both.

Rabbit food is alfalfa ....don't know about the salt..best bet ..go to your local feed store and buy 50# bag of Alfalfa pellets (as Venu said: Cattle/Horse Feed) for 11 bucks..much cheaper than rabbit food and lasts along time...I even put down alfalfa pellets on my gardens before laying that years composted cowmanure and mulch..it slowly breaks down whereas the tea is instant for your plants
