I would be glad to send you some of our rain, minus the hail of course, if only I knew how. However, I believe that we are still a little behind our annual average rain at this time of the year. And don't worry about drthor, even if she lost a bunch of tomatoes to the storm, I'd bet that she still has about a million more (maybe I exaggerate a little).
Did anyone else have hail damage last night?
Have you seen her harvest pictures? I don't think you are exaggerating! Drthor, our hero!
I just saw film on local tv news of the damage that the storm and tornado did to Irving, TX last night, just terrible. This spring I have had major damage from one hail storm and minor damage from a second, plus have lost plants due to high winds and rampant early blight. I only live about eight miles from drthor and she says she's not had any problems this season except for losing a few tomatoes last night? I don’t understand how she leads such a charmed life. Is it time yet to form a “drthor mutual admiration fan club”? Or maybe she should be given her own forum, like “Ask drthor” (ha).
you guys are funny
I will post later some pictures of all the tomatoes I found in the ground ... but it is ok I have 32 plants just for this reason.
Some of the tomatoes on the floor were the huge BHN 444 ... but still green ... so tonight I tried "fried green tomatoes" recipe which untill now it sounded to me "silly".
OMG !! they are the most delicious food in the all world !!!
OK, Dr. Thor. Now you HAVE to post that recipe because I don't have tomatoes on the ground but limbs on vines bent pretty badly from the wind and loaded with green tomatoes and I'm wondering if they will survive long enough for the green tomatoes to ripen. I really am surprised the vines have held up as well as they have this year. We have had almost non-stop terrible wind for the last two months but yesterday was the worst and did a lot of damage to my tomatoes and peppers.
