Have lived here 3 years, and this is the first time I've seen this kind. It was tucked into a branch of loquats I was harvesting.

In doing more research, found Tropical Orbweaver Spider, common down here and with the very prominent yellow (http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/pdffiles/IN/IN56800.pdf). Also managed to ID another orb weaver I see every year - one of my faves - the Spiny-backed Orb Weaver Spider. Very exciting!
