Glub, glub, glub...
Take a Look at this...
OH man, you are soooo right!!!!!! It just seems to happen, it takes on a life of it's own! Last night my two Wellies went to their new home. This morning 18 of the 34 chicks went too. It is an much more managble number to work with. I didn't keep the eye candy chicks in favor of the good layers. If I'm going to feed them then I want EGGS, not pretty birds. We really enjoy the chickens. My husband, dogs and I like to sit outside with them and watch their antics.
If you can take care of roses you can manage chickens. They are wonderful pets/providers/companions. I have a friend who likes to come by in the evening and help close the girls up in their coops (yes I have several). She says she loves to hear the soothing little sounds they make.
Oh Porkpal.. that is sweet.. There are several families that take walks here.. they always stop by to gawk at the chickens. It's not my property, so I don't invite visitors, but sure like to see how excited the kids get to see them. :)
Knowing the problem is NOT part of the cure when it comes to chickens! LOL I've known better for years and do I listen to me? NOOOO
What kind of chickens are these?

The black & white ones look like Brahmas to me..
They are pretty..but then, not many don't appeal to me.

Melvatoo, I was just through your area a few weeks ago. What a gorgeous town you live in. I was so surprised to see so much new road construction and homes being built around Dallas. Seemed like those large brick houses went on forever in Plano. Even on my way into Dallas they were building new overpasses. I was lost most of the time, but finally found my destination.
In the suburbs of Dallas everything is so green and manicured looking. Too perfect looking for me, I need some weeds and rusting barrels or something, but I enjoyed very much visiting for a day. Would go back again just for the Spring Creek BarBQ. Oh my goodness that was good!
L_f_J, you'd be quite happy here. I could help, too. I would be willing to loan you a couple a rusty burnin' barrels, and I'll GIVE you the weeds...
OH THANK YOU!!!
To where may I ship your barrel o' weeds??
I aims ta please:)
Can I send you some too? I may even have part of a rusted barrel.
I have plenty of both: barrels and weeds. Perhaps we can get a mass-mailing rate...
:D I know that really sounds dumb but I like my horse lot with all the junk in it. I go out and sit in the shed and relax. I don't have to pretend to be anybody I'm not, or even brush my hair.
I do want it cleaned up for the donkey's sake, but keep wondering if I'll have that same pleasant feeling out there.
Yep, once you start maintaining something you feel obliged to keep it up.
I have tumbleweeds I can send
Me too.
I, of course, do not have junk. I have treasures. They may not _appear_ to be treasures, but, underneath, they are. Or, they could be. And, someday, will be. I have a wonderful gift allowing me to see the possibilities in the oddest things. You just never know when you will need these unexpected assets.
And I like to hide, um, cogitate in my shed, as well. The chickens don't seem to mind sharing it, and the cows like thier field with a certain selection of Objets d'Art...
