History Buffs

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

If you'd like to know about the history of our town (Newark, Ohio), this site is really neat. There are newspaper articles, ads, photos...They concentrated on the years 1799-1920 and there is just so much here. I just found this site tonight while searching for something else in local history. I've been photographing a lot in the local cemeteries - love the stonework, epitaphs and the history - and it will be neat to learn about the families whose names I've read on the monuments. Crossville, TN

GW, I remember driving through a pretty little town in Ohio years ago...Andover? on the PA border. It had the neatest town square. I hope it is still the same. Another town I thought was nice was Hagerstown, MD, and Homestead, Fl (before the storm that wiped it about out), and York, Pa, and.........too many to list! I love to see new places. Jo
