I thought it was a shell or a cocoon of some sort... but it wiggles it's tail! I took some video of it wiggling, but you'll have to guess from the pic.
Found it when I was dumping out spent containers... so I think it could be whatever ruined my struggling strawberry plants? I didn't squish it after I took the pics, but I did put it in a small container with a bit of dirt and a piece of mesh tied over the top so I can see if it turns into anything...
Its a moth pupa =)
If it was a caterpillar beforehand, its POSSIBLE its whatever ruined your strawberries.
But they only real way to find out is to put it somewhere where it can hatch out.
Mesh over the top of the container should work fine, as long as the moth can climb up on something to dry its wings properly.
