Also skittish when it comes to the sounds of my shutter, the Myrtle Warbler.
Spring at the Pond
Such a wonderful retreat -- for both the visitors and the hostess! Such joy! Great pictures too Marna.
Cute they're those Chipping Sparrows! There is a considered difference b/w the White-crowned and the Chipping Sparrows. I haven't seen them together, but the size contrast b/w the two would be noticeable! I haven't seen many sparrows here lately. They all must decided to come and visit you instead. lol
Oh I see it! A smaller warbler still compared to that 'butter butt'. in the picture? Marna, did you get your Bird cam repaired or a new one? I'm doing some words by mouth (or typing) research, lol. I've been wanting one and would like to find one that's not too pricey but will do a decent job. Say somewhere in the midland's price range. Frugal me! sigh*
Awww, may I say she has got fat-lip. That GROSbeak, I meant. lol
Thats great about the Nashville Warbler!
LL, I got a new one, the same thing. It was 50 dollars cheaper at Best Buy, I had a gift card and also a reward certificate.
There are likely less expensive if you decide you don't need the flash and video.
Thanks Marna, I never thought to look at Best Buy. Remember, I told Burnadette I wanted your pond? LOL, actually I wanted your pond WITH the birds that came to it. lol
Beautiful visitors you have there, Mrs Ed.
Kim, if you take the pond, along with the birds it also comes with a resident ghost.
It also can come with lots of work. UGH. Big leak overnight so I have to work on that this morning.
It's a rock-stealing ghost, Kim.
It's has got to be something about the rocks and boulders. Something enduring and charming about them. I especially love those river rocks.
Yes, well I had the camera on overnight a few nights back and it took a ton of pictures. Suddenly a small rock was MISSING from the image. And there was no sign of the critter who moved or stole it. Ghosts.
I later found what appeared to be the rock, sitting beside the rock to the left of it (in the original location), but STILL no sign of the culprit.
If the pond is installed right, it should not be as much work as one would guess. my struggles with a leak are, I believe, due to incorrect rock placement in the stream. Let's hope at least. But the pond is well worth the effort because of the birds. I thought I was going to explode with joy on Saturday when all the orioles showed up.
