Isn't dog-day cicada a generalized common name for annual cicadas in the genus Tibicen, rather than for a praticular species?

Gah sorry, I tried to reply this morning, but apparently it didn't post.
My audobon guide to insects says:
Dogday Harvestfly
Tibicen canicularis

When googled, you can compare images if you like =).
