LOL, okay here is the scoop and lots of hillarious writing about this critter on DG. It's said to be 'good bug', but I fear it will be destructive for our Monarch cats. in the long run.

Im afraid that isnt the same bug. Shaped completely different. After researching for a few hours yesterday, i think it may be a Stink bug! Looks exactly likemtje ones that came up on google. Now the problem is how to get rid of them??

Lucketts, VA(Zone 7a)

Definitely a leaf-footed bug, not a wheelbug, nor a stink bug. They are generally herbivores and should not hurt your Milkweed cats.

Whew! Cuz i noticed there are quite a few of them lol. Glad to know I can let them fo on about their daily lives!

I've to admit, it's a real challenge for me to differentiate among those mentioned bugs. The Wheel bug, the leaftooted bug, and the stinkbug. One of these days I'm gonna master that. I just have to be patient. That's all to it. lol.

While Wheel Bugs and Stink Bugs have back legs that are skinny like their two front pairs, the Leaf-footed Bugs have rear legs with "calves" that are broad and flat. This is evident in your photo. Stink Bugs are more equi-demensional, shield shaped. Wheel Bugs have half a "cogged wheel" standing vertical on the mid-line of their thorax (segment directly back of the head), very noticable. A bit simplistic, but hopefully helpful. :-)

Tehehehe, you meant the legs that look as if they not only exercise but also on steroid? ROFL. The rest equi-demensional? ummm what do you mean by that? and

It helped some, but simplistic? No way!
BTW, I wanted to have calves but dispite exercise; can't achieve the shape I wanted. So I thought I expressed my humor as well as frustration here. lol

Ha ha shouldn't they really be leaf LEGged bugs? yes they should

Lucketts, VA(Zone 7a)

Lily - "Stink Bugs are more equi-demensional" - Unlike Wheel Bugs and Leaf-footed Bugs which are much longer than they are wide, Stink Bugs are only slightly longer than they are wide. That's what I meant by that.

Ok, now I'm brought up to speed. lol. Many thanks greenthumb99.

Cue, wait until you see the aphids that like the milk weed!!! They are huge, orange with black legs. Never saw an aphid like that before. Cam

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

Oh, I've seen em! I grow Milkweed every year... and they always come in armies! But this was the first year I saw this ugly looking bug!

Those yellow aphids also infest my Wild Alamanda vine... more so than the Milkweed - no matter how much I blast em off with the hose, they seem to regroup and attack again the next day.
