You better run through the Jungle.
This is Sharon;s Gunnera.
INVITATION TO HELP ENTERTAIN OUR EAST COAST MEMBER
STAY TUNED FOR PART 2 TOMORROW NIGHT.
These were great, Lynn - thanks!
Ah, wish I could have been there. And, so glad you had a great sunshiney day to show Jan how gorgeous the PNW can be.
It was an ABSOLUTELY beautiful sunshiny day!!! Lynn, your pics are Wonderful. Who else agrees with me that Julia's plants exceed many nursery plants? They were so healthy looking and lush!!!!!
My DH who really doesn't garden (except for digging holes, or dividing really big plNts) commented on how friendly everyone was and how great the hospitality was. It was hard for him to get his mind around the fact that we were complete strangers. However, I knew that we weren't strangers we were family. The family of gardeners is quite widespread.
BTW. If anyone comes east, the invitation is open to visit us. We are a half hour below Philadelphia. Very centrally located if you want to go to NYC or DC or the shore. Looking forward to your visits. But, let us get home first, please. We ended up back at our son's in Oregon for a few more days. We forgot something there.
OK, Getting together made me realize how very much I have missed you all and how badly I needed to get back into the swing of DG, no matter what is going in my life!
It was such a glorious day, and the company was superb! Thanks to all that made it, and a big "we missed you" to all that couldn't!
Also huge thanks to Lynn & Joe for a fabulous dinner, and Julia...OMG, you guys would not believe the truck full of beautiful seedlings that she brought to share with us!! Jan was not exagerating a bit when she said that they were nicer than nursery plants!!
Just a fun day. Lots of laughs. You guys post pictures of my babys when you plant. Just love to see what you creative minds do with them. Julie that strep. was huge!! WOW All three of you have fantastic yards, so big.
Thank you so much for taking the time to post the pictures, Lynn. It brings back lots of memories about what a perfect day it turned out to be!
I wanted to wait to comment on Julia's plants until the pictures were posted. You just cannot believe how wonderful they are and how many she had to share! She should be extremely proud of her results in her seed-starting efforts. I have all of mine in the ground and will post pictures as soon as they get their feet established and come even more to life. Some are going over to the house in EWA this weekend to brighten up the yard there too. Thanks again, Julia. You are so very generous and it was a real pleasure getting to know you better this time!
It was like having a nursery making a delivery on your birthday
Lynn, those in the red wagon are begonias. Thank you guys. Love that you all enjoyed my winter therapy.
Julia, thank you for setting me straight! I have them in the shade, is that correct?
I am going to plant some more today, if it stops raining. Thank you again for your generosity. Oh, another one of the lilies opened yesterday. It is drop dead gorgeous. Would you like one of my stacker planters? I want to share something nice with you, and I have no plants right now.
Lynn,
Thanks for all the nice pictures. Wish I would have stayed. My fahter-in-law didn't get out of hospital until Sunday afternoon. You guys look like your having so much fun.
That lily is fantastic. No worries about trading. Things will come naturally as time moves on. Take care!
I am a new Heuchera mama. I found a couple of babies near my H's. I don't know what they will be.
I agree with Julie, I didn't realize just how much I have missed all of you these past few months. I need your friendship to complete my happiness. I have just holed myself up and closed out the world. This weekend event at Sharon and Julie's brought me back to my real world, and off the pity wagon. Thanks everyone!
Amazing how this 'family' keeps us on track. It was my lifeline as I was mom's caregiver for over 3 years. It' soooo nice to have a tether with others.
Ah, Jan, I can relate to that. I accompanied Mom down the Alzheimer Trail, and Dad is now heading down his own uncertain path (doesn't appear to be Alzheimer's, but something similar). He's lost his words and short term memory, but thankfully not yet his cognizance. The last clear thing I remember him saying was, "It's hell getting old." I'm hoping he has a shorter journey than Mom...
Bonehead, I applaud your strength in the face of sorrow.
And I am utterly chagrined that I didn't get back to town in time to enjoy this gathering. It looks to have been stupendous.
Sorry I couldn't make it, either! Looks like it was fun...
Don't see why I couldn't.
