I thought I'd get this thread started, as we didn't have one yet. We have a garden photos thread, but it's only one per day, and I don't know about most of you, but I'd like to be able to post more than one per day. I'll get this started with some crocus shots taken last weekend.

What's Blooming In Your Garden? 2011 #1
white ones....
Okay, let's see everyone else's blooms now.
Karen
ut oh.. you and Victor were on the same page.. both started the threads.. the southern belle was worth getting down for.. just outstanding!!
I agree, Southern Belles are wonderful. The rich color of those crocus are lovely too.
Thanks. I didn't know Victor started a thread. I looked for one first before starting this one.
Karen
Both the crocus & hellebores are awesome, Karen.....don't understand why I have no luck with crocus, unless they've been eaten!
I worked outside yesterday, finally and briefly. Cleaned out the raspberry patch and put up a pea teepee. And, found mass quantities of these little devils that I learned about last year. I didn't know what they were and so thinking they were cute, didn't pull them all. This year there are even more and the raspberry patch was the first place where I took out every one I could see. The kids at school thought they were really cool the way they shot their seeds everywhere. I'll remind them of that while I make them pull out all the babies this year.
Robin, I had to wrap all my crocuses in chicken wire
Thanks, Marilyn. Your crocuses might have been eaten. I often get foliage and flowers eaten off of mine, but this year not too many were touched, just a few here and there.
Too funny, Candy! I am not familiar with those weeds.
Karen
I have a weed that shoots seeds at me... not sure what it is.. but I call it the insult to injury weed
LOL! I have one, too. I also don't know what it is. It's already up. I pull lots of it every year. I should take a pic and post it here.
Karen
the seeds look like long grain rice on this one... lanky looking weed... and just go near it and breeze it... blammo they are everywhere... usually gets me right in the face as I am pulling something else
Sounds like what I have. Maybe about a foot high, a little higher maybe?
Karen
yeah I guess they could be that tall.. I usually try to get them small.. they are so easy to spot.. but show up out of no where every year.. and not a tap root one... easy pull thank god
Yes, they are easy to pull.
Karen
That was listed in a DG article last year...let me find it....
You need to pull them while they still have the flowers on them before they go to seed, they are easy to pull
found it...good thing I tagged it
Hairy Bittercress
http://davesgarden.com/guides/articles/view/2839/
Yes! That's it. Hairy Bittercress. Before it gets those stalks with the long rice shaped seed capsules, it has these darling little flowers on delicate little plants. It's a real devil in disguise. They are easy to pull if you have the patience to pull 1,000 cute little plants. They were growing up in between the canes and you practically need a tweezer to get them out of there. One patch cleared and only a 1/4 acre to go. I'm on a roll.
what a display of loveliness! I adore spring!!! you can check out a lot more photos of my garden on my blog http://www.abbyjenkins.com I need to get to my taxes....blech, would much rather be out there taking photos of each and every new discovery, spring in the garden is like a reunion with all your best buddies.
