Great pictures everyone. I haven't tried to take any bird photos for 6 weeks or so. Didn't get back form the hip joint revision surgery until Mar. 31, and have to take it easy as far as walking is concerned. I am feeling good it is just that it takes me so long to walk outside using the walker or a cane.
So everyone thanks for the photos and I look forward to seeing more.

Welcome home, Donna.
welcome home Donna, hopefully you will be able to get rid of the walker soon and be able to take some pictures. Glad the surgery went ok. Went out this morning to see what was out there, got this picture. I think these ducks are so pretty, saw a couple of red-headed woodpeckers but they were trying to lure me away from their nest, so they would not stay still for a photo op.
Great catch Mrs_Ed!!!
Beautiful Mrs. Ed!
Margaret, LOVE those birds especially the honeyeater!
Nice ducks Teddy.
Great pics everyone. Speedy recovery Donna.
Red, amazing that you're at 118, and really you don't have mosquitoes yet? -- can't imagine it.
Can't believe that I've lived in this area for 25 years and I had never been to High Island before. Amazing! And apparently I wasn't even there on a good day. I got there the morning after the storm, but it was a weak storm and the north wind died down fast. By the time I got there at 8 am the migrating birds were gone or at least that was what I was told. Still saw some orchard orioles, common yellowthroat, northern parula, maybe a yellow warbler -- Oh and got a lifer -- a Palm Warbler!
Wasn't going to post a pic b/c still trying to get through all my pictures, but I'll share one of the two lousy shots that I got of the Palm Warbler.
Fantastic picture of the flicker.
Sometimes a 'poor' day turns out better.
Great shots everyone!
Love that Flicker Mrs Ed!
I'll be starting the new thread a little later on.
Tomorrow if the weather holds, I will try to find that tree with the flickers. Not much opportunity to get good pics, it was foggy and cold. Hopefully when the weather gets warm and stays warm, more pics will be forthcoming.
WOW...need to read up on Burst Mode!! Very good Mrs. Ed!!
Thanks for the Flicker, Mrs Ed. It's gorgeous. Good catch on the flight shot.
Welcome back, Donna. I'm glad the surgery went well.
NICE!!!
Very NICE. Congrats Lew.
Nice shots nanny! Love that Horned Grebe!
LEW, Those shots are lovely of the Bluebird and Mockingbird! Congrats on the new equipment!

Foggy day yesterday, and rain today, someone upstairs is telling me to slow down on picture taking for a while until the weather straightens up. Got a couple of shots of how foggy it was. I went down to the lake and boy was that wind was cold! So I decided to go back home and warm up, I love taking pictures but I don't think getting a cold doing it is not a good idea. So it WILL warm up eventually, and I will try again for the elusive pl wp.
We're on to here now! --> http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1171046/
