I found this spider, about 2 cm with legs, walking along my wall when I just came home.
It was already dark outside. Location: Melbourne
Curious: The spider has marks which are comparable to questionmarks on the huge head which is double the size of the rest of the body.
The spider started to walk towards the camera and changed direction when I changed direction of the camera too.
I am almost sure it wanted to attack the camera. I could neither find a web nor did I see her weaving a thread while walking.
Because it seemed to be agressive and because I have a 2.5 year old daughter I had to kill her after I took the pictures.
I would really need to know what spider it is.
CLOSED: What Spider is this?
This is a spitting spider (Scytodes thoracica; family Scytodidae), so called because it does not bite its victims, but 'spits'/sprays them with a sticky silk that contains its venom. They are harmless to humans - see http://tinyurl.com/4exrk9z
for more information.
