So, my Steeds Japanese holly doesn't look as bushy as I would like it to be. It is doing fine at the bottom, but less so at the top. When should I prune this to get it to be bushy? Right now it has not put out any new growth yet. Last year I snipped a few longer branches that were sticking out after the flush of new growth.
I see a lot of these in the neighborhood that are totally out of control and you can see right through them...
When to prune holey Steeds Holly

says
''Japanese hollies can also be pruned as needed in midsummer or late winter. If pruning for hedges, late spring is a good time for trimming holly bushes.''
Thanks, Sally, for the link. I will take their advice and prune now (late winter).
