Hope you all enjoyed the photos in the last thread. We came from here-

Think I'll start out with a male Nuttall's Woodpecker.
DAILY BIRD PICTURES, VOLUME 389
that might be a thrush.
Nice start duc!!
Love the Purple Finch Mrs. Ed. I keep hoping to see some here. But none so far.
Mrs. Ed, this little one is smaller-- about the size of a plum Chickadee. Def. not as long as most thrushes (in the field guide) that are 7" and more?
Oooh thank you Resin, that's a 'lifer' for me!!!
edit to add; I studied up on the 'myrtle' or eastern warblers versus the 'audubon' warblers of the west. So that was a female 'yellow rumped'. I picked out the male for the first time a while back. Now I get to know the female. But, correction; it isn't a 'lifer'. Thank all the same Resin.

I was experimenting with the camera my hubby lets me use, and I caught this little fellow on top of the upside down feeder, the blurry part is because he turned his head just as I clicked. The rb wp came around tonight but he was too quick for me, I put out some bread and he would grab a piece and take off.
Beautiful start, duc. Lily, glad you are enjoying your bluebirds. Daddy is outside waiting on me as I type.Should get our 4th egg today. I won't check until mid-morning. Most of the time BB's lay in early morning.
Doing a little prep work for a trip today. Heading to McKinney, TX for a week and then down to High Island to observe the neo-tropical migrants hit the coast. Should be a good trip.
One of the Eurasian Collard Doves that feeds here daily.
Teddy, glad you're enjoying the robins. Cute wp too.
Mrs Ed, great photos showing the difference in finches.
Lily, adorable photo of your new little warbler-congratulations!! Cute titmouse and bb too.
Red, that dove is beautiful. Have a wonderful and safe trip. Looking forward to seeing your photos!
The California Thrashers are all calling for mates and it sounds wonderful. Only problem is they stop when it rains and that's all we've had lately.
Duc, I always thought of Ca. to a dried lack-of rainfalls kind of region. Is it a new occurrence with climate changes that you have gotten so much rain? Down here it's like feast or famine, we seem to be in constant drough, then downpour to the point of flooding. Your female finch is sure a pretty looking one. I had no idea that warblers will use substitute feeds, I thought they're only interested in insects. lol I've so much to learn. It's time for me to put those drift woods pieces in good use. lol
Oh I meant to say your western Thrasher(s) they kind of reminding me of Margaret's honeyeaters with his curled bill. The Brown Thrashers in our Eastern region evolved differently with much straighter beaks.
Great photos, everyone and excellent start to the new thread, duc. I always like your photos of the Nuttall's Woodpecker.
Mrs. Ed, please send a Purple Finch my way. I keep looking but they all turn out to be House Finches.
Red, I look forward to hearing about and seeing the sightings on your planned trip. Enjoy !!!
I haven't gone anywhere special beyond the backyard. Here are a few recent shots at or near the feeder taken on Tuesday. This is a pair of Tufted Titmice with an American Goldfinch.
Wonderful pictures all. Not good picture weather here right now. Poor birds, having to be outside in it.
Great series Duc & Linth!! I have to unload the camera....I had a Chipping Sparrow yesterday! It was 70 yesterday and today it is 40 right now and down to 26 tonight...YUCK!
Wow Linth, look at you go.
Would love to send you purple finches if they ever stayed long enough. I just seem to be a stop on the way to wherever. Haven't seen either one of them all day. *shrug*
