Welcome, Cliff. You're bound to enjoy the nice people on the Northeast Forum.

We love Maine and have been to Caribou though it's deer that haunt my dreams in all the wrong ways.

- Yeah, but Caribou are Reindeer, like Rudolph! They pull Santa's Sleigh! (Wheee!)

Hello Cliff! The NE forum has lots of useful (and sometimes useless) information along with lots of laughs. Welcome!

Hi, Cliff !!!

Whenever I start complaining about winter, I remind myself that residents of Maine usually have it tougher!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Hi, Cliff. I agree with Venu. 8) It is definitely a fun place to hang out.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Where is Cliff? I think we scared him!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hope he didn't jump! ^_^

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

We seem to scare some people off after they introduce themselves! Maybe we should just grunt.

East Bridgewater, MA

Maybe he thought he was in the "Cheers" bar and didn't want to be associated with THAT "Cliff."

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

UH.. yes we do seem to do that.. EH

:)

- Yes, that's why I'm hesitant to respond to these types of threads. Sometimes the newbie hangs in the intro thread and never comes out, then dissapears after a short while, I noticed that too.. The ones that jump in an established thread seem to acclimate better.
(Not necessarily directed at you specifically Cliff, just 'a general observation'..)

Hmmmmm...I joined in December, was wondering if I should have introduced myself....Somehow it didn't occur to me until I saw others do it, and by then I felt silly, too late...

Pam

Welcome, Pam. Now please don't leave!! ^_^

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Hee hee! Hi Pam

(Pam) Warren, CT(Zone 5b)

Don't you worry, I already got my newbie seeds and I'm committed to a plant trade-- more than that, I really, really like it here!

Hi all!

Pam

East Bridgewater, MA

Pam, it's just like a few folks from the same general vicinity, wandering into the same old coffee shop, not really with any kind of purpose, just chit-chatting in a friendly way.

No big whoop.... just easy-going gardeners.

(Yep, we've got dirt under our fingernails after planting!)

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

hi pam

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

hello Pam... hope you stick around!!!

Hi Pam!

(Pam) Warren, CT(Zone 5b)

Hi folks,

I'll have mine black, please.

Seriously, I thought I knew- I did know- something about gardening. I've had a fair amount of experience, mostly (until recently) in a warmer zone on the east end of LI, but what I've already learned here is an advanced degree. And painless- and fascinating- and sometimes with a hearty chuckle. So thank you all for that, and I look forward to much more of the same.

Big hugs to you all...

Pam

Hi Pam, I felt the same as you when I first joined DG. What I learned here in the 5 years would have cost me hundreds, possibly thousands in books to cover the knowledge that is freely exchanged here. Welcome!

Weeze

Thanks Weeze!

Hi Pam, so glad you're here!

(Pam) Warren, CT(Zone 5b)

Thanks!

Sooooooooooo......

I have a question in the seed germination forum about plastic grow bags. Does anyone here have experience with them?

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1166530/

I hope that's the right link....

Thanks!!!

Pam

BTW, thanks neighbors. I now feel properly introduced and welcomed.

And thanks to you too, Cliff. I wish the same for you.

G'night all, sweet dreams.

Are you talking about those upside down hanging thingies?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Hi Pam!
I'm No help on the baggies im afraid.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I used the ones I think you are talking about... hanging bags with the pockets along the front?.. never started seeds in them.. only planted established seedlings... I know you have to start them with the bag laying down until the roots take hold.. then you can hang it up... I put a bunch of polymer gels in it.... and it took a while watering to make it's way though to the bottom... have to water easy because the water came out the top holes and didn't make it to the bottom plants... more or less had to water and walk away... water and walk away...and let it soak down slowly... I had petunias in one.. and I have to look what was in the other

Yes, I would say you are fitting in right well, Pam. I agree that it is an extensive education we receive here. It's a good thing that I don't get graded on what I've learned though.

I do hope Cliff comes back. :)

No experience with those growbags, sorry. Looks like Onewish has it down pat.
