Thank You so much !!!!!!!!

Loropetalum won't be hardy in your climate.
I have a couple of them which overwinter outside in my yard (same zone as you),
but frankly, they look terrible. They survive, but lots of winter-kill, few flowers...
I suggest enjoying them at your cousin's house.

OK............ thank you!

I have one of these, as well, so thank you for the ID. It's just been called a "fringe plant" when I asked.

Mine got very leggy in the last year, and I'd like to prune it. I don't know when, or how much.

Any experts out there?

Last year it bloomed bith spring and fall, and is finishing it's spring bloom now. It was very pretty:)

catmad this is what I found http://www.clemson.edu/extension/hgic/plants/landscape/shrubs/hgic1085.html hope it is of some help to you. I have seen pictures of them pruned to look like a tree, bare wood stock with a poof of leaves and blooms at the top.

Well thank you, Synda! I should have thought to look up Clemson, I _did_ think of calling their TV show, now that I had a name. I've always wanted to ask something that wouldn't seem to stupid:)

Thanks again, I'll go read up...

I was always told that any genuine question is never a stupid question..........and you are very welcome !
