History Channel

Dayton, OH

Does anyone watch the History Channel? I don't understand what some of the shows have to do with History.

(Zone 7a)

I have it. Which shows?

Dayton, OH

Axe Men, Swamp People, Pawn Stars, American Pickers, Top Gun and there are more, but can't think of the names of the shows off hand.

I think the only thing history related is that we had all those things in our past. I don;t watch any of them.

I don't either, that's just the point, why don't they put shows on about History.

It does seem a shame to me that we have a dozen sports channels and yet can't seem to support one decent history channel. DH likes Pawn Stars (otherwise he's a great guy) and you can get tiny doses of history. Tonight a guy brought a letter signed by FDR, got minor info about when he started Social Security it was a big political effort and he wrote to many ministers trying to elicit support.

I have watched Pawn Stars a couple of times, and found it to be a little interesting when people bring in things that are different. I have watched a little bit of American Pickers, but I wish they would put more History shows on. I also don't ubderstand what UFO's have to do with History.

UFO's-= me neither.
I watched a Ghost hunter kind of show twice, went to two really cool deserted locales, empty buildings with unusual / tragic pasts.

LOL I like and watch all of those shows regularly, rosycats are you talking about Top Shots or Top Gear? They all touch on History in their own right, mainly modern day and antique stuff, but I agree and don't think they're actual 'history shows.' I think they should be on one of the The Discovery Channels.

I also like Top Gear, Ice Road Truckers, IRT's Deadliest Roads, Modern Marvels, Mega Disasters, and anything about WWII and ghosts.

Call me Chicken, but most of those shows scare me. I can't stand to see anyone get hurt. I mean Top Gear. I do watch some of those UFO shows once in a great while. I watch a lot of TV Land though.

LOL if you don't have feathers you are not a chicken, now if you're growing feathers.... lol

I found this really good show on The Weather Channel's When Weather Changed History last night that was about the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, that was some interesting stuff! Seems like The Weather Channel has more history based shows than The History Channel does!

Love Top Gear!
