I'm probably going to have to eat my words but wanted to start a green time thread.
The Chick goes GREEN
you and the chicken live dangerously!!
You are much greener than we are.....still some snow, & yucky yellow lawn!
Snow in the front yard as it is pretty shady. Clearing off beds in back, but main iris beds have more cover. Because of a large pine tree on the north side of old pasture, the snow melts from north to south.
Bring on the green!
Winter is getting old.
Agreed, BA!
The snow is beginning to retreat. Beds where I want it to go still have a layer (where the arilbred irises are planted) for instance. I can see the green flag marking the spot where 16" peony 'Squirt' resides. the bed to the north of the driveway will proably be sunnier this year as a couple brances came down & a bed backed up by a 5ft rock which came out of the cellar hole when the house was built in 1972 is clear. It has some 'thalia' daffodils, mint & daffs hybridized by an iris hybridizer from MO. I had asked him for some with a pink cup. The main iris beds away from the house in a former pony paddock are staring to have melt, but really a long way to go. the overnight rain helped.
Geeze - I thought the thread was about a cute, environmentally conscious woman!
Who says that chick isn't cute, but stationary.
She is cute, just not my type. ^_^
awww
Gee, Jo...talk about nasty! No one needs snow in March! Let's hope the warm weather comes true.....
Things are melting now.
Poor chick, keeps getting warm then snows on her again
frost bite for sure
I thought April was the cruelest month.
Its dark and I'm confused by DST but will photo when light enough.
It's a good time chick! Glad to see your snow is gone!
a cocky chick
Into the world, unaffraid.
Hang in there, TinChick !!!
(Enjoying the photo of all the open space in the background)....(in a sing-songy voice:) "I smell potent-ial !!!"
Just wait. The background is full od DL's,Lilies, aSTILBES,ji'S
It's confusing the chick....enough!
Nice pots, nice chick that is almost snow free. Hope it lasts, but not overly hopeful. Patti
awwwww cumonn
Snowing here again, hope it's just flurries!
The chick would have been cold here this morning....frost all over the place!
Same here, white roofs.I dont care the temps are going up and will stay above 50 all week.
No frost, no sunshine, no good weather for today.
Take the ferry, Pirl.....CT is looking good!
The plumber arrived (finally!) to install a third heating zone so I can't make the ferry today.
That ferry starts and ends each vacation so beautifully!
I take the ferry to Port Jeff to visit my stepdaughter who lives in Commack....don't know if it saves time, but it saves a lot of aggravation!
Yes, hate the LIE.....was amazed the 1st time I was in Commack...said to Lesley, "Where's your town center?" All I could see were strip malls.....that was the center! I'm used to a green with buildings all around....even in our blue collar town, we have several greens, and some lovely old buildings.....
So do the many villages out here. No strip malls out here, thank God.
Commack and the surrounding area was built up in quick order with all the people fleeing Nassau from the high taxes. They've been experiencing their own high taxes for the last 45 years!
I'm not a fan of strip malls and those that are vacant are sorry views.
Progress isn't always what's best for quality of life!
