Sorry this isn't a garden sighting, the site looks quite helpful though, I might have to browse around.
That said, I found a tiny tan caterpillar less than half an inch long in my bathroom, and now I'm concerned our new place might have carpet beetles. My roommate's had this problem before, so we did some searching around and found this article:
http://www.sites.ext.vt.edu/departments/entomology/factsheets/carpbeet.html
...which mentions the tendency of the adults to cling to windowsills. Reading that made us cringe, because this beaut has been parked on the outside of our window since we moved in on Saturday. Any ideas? Thanks guys.

CLOSED: Window Lurker
This is a stink bug (Hemiptera/Heteroptera: Pentatomidae), several species of these sometimes will enter homes in search of overwintering shelter, but they do no harm there. See http://tinyurl.com/y9d4jku for an example. Adult carpet beetles are much smaller (usually 2-3 mm) and superficially resemble small lady beetles.
Thank you! My fears are relieved. I'll keep an eye out and thanks again.
