Here is the other side of my front yard. I have been working on this side. Late last summer I had the belgium block mini trellising done and then planted one of the trumpet daffodil mixes from Scheepers along in there for spring color. I have some daylilies in there at both ends.
The daffodils are going to be all over this year.
Wonderful pics Rita...I just love your setting and the terraced look. Gives you such an advantage over the rest of us in that you can really put on a spectacular vertical show. Keep the pics coming!
What Dutch Iris varieties did you plant??

Oh, gosh I planted lots. I started with 200 of the mixed variety that I planted between my TB Iris in the backyard. Then along in back of a daylily section I have them running along in 5 groups. Oriental Beauty, Blue Magic, Silver Beauty, Rosario and I don't remember the fifth.
Good choices...all varieties I have as well.
I forgot to add that although most of the Dutch Iris I got from Scheepers, I did get some from Brent and Beckies too. Planted those elsewhere (not up in that back garden).
I want to work on that front yard on both sides and get some Dutch Iris in there too as well as more tulips and more daffoldils.
Rita, what is planted on those wrought iron trellis in back of the daffs? Everything is looking very nice. I know you worked so hard last year on your beds and those lupines you bought and planted were so nice.
Those wrought iron trellis have honeysuckle vines that start blooming late spring/early summer and just keep blooming all summer long. There are actually four trellis that I have side by side touching and wired together but they are angled to make a zig zag pattern instead of a straight line. Each one has two different honeysuckle vines planted so there were eight vines originally. They are all grown together now.
Those Lupines I had mostly died. I am going to get more and try again this spring as we had an exceptionally hot summer last year.
Its raining today as well as rain forcast for most of the rest of this week so I can't really get out there and get a better view of my fancy new daffs blooming. But blooming they are. I have these all along the front walkway to the street and they are opening all along, not just the ones in this cluster from the other day. I guess these were in the most sun. I have more orange trumpets on the other side of the walkway too. I envisioned both sides open at once when I planted them but that might not turn out to be so.
Nice, Rita :-) It's all coming together!
Very showy :-)
I really needed more daffs (and tulips) and wanted to do up that front garden area. It looks so good that I am inspired to do more and am already plotting what bulbs I will buy to plant this fall so that next spring has even more bloom.
