Show Us Your Video's Of Wild Birds !!!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I am playing with the video but more to capture the audio then video of birds. This is at the other end of my half mile circle that I walk and it features a Brown Thrasher talking. I did this yesterday afternoon. It was very windy and the camera did pick that up a bit! lol

Here is a video of the Summer Tanager I had in my backyard today. He seems to really love the hot pepper suet I put out.

Wow Pelle...really nice video and that bird is on my list of must see's!! What a stunner and great job too!!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Great video...so nice that you got sound too! That is very helpful. I have seen an immature male and a female last year during fall migration but nut a nice male in summer plumage is on my wish list too!

PERTH, Australia

What a stunner, Pelle. I agree with nanny about having sound as well.

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Oh what a great find, love your video of him. Wish to see one someday. Hope he comes back for you and you can capture some more.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Wow! He's colorful, but sooo nervous!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Great capture, fine, fine job Pelle.

Marlton, NJ

Thanks guys. I got a lot of video and photos of him. I think he was nervous about the Grackles and me (even though I was quite far away).

Marlton, NJ

I saw him again this morning. He keeps calling to someone so I'm hoping to see the female soon.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Oh that would be so nice to have a pair that would come to the feeder. So cool!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Oh wouldn't that be great if they stayed for the summer!!

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Great job with your video and the gorgeous bird Pelle! Hope he continues to stay around.

Marna, thank you. I watched the whole clip, and I was mesmerized. Nature is awesome indeed. Thank you for sharing that with me and other members.

Thanks for reviving the thread Mrs-ED, It was nice to look at the videos again. I would like to see some more, added on here.

Algonquin, IL(Zone 5a)

BUMP!

Wow! How have I missed seeing this thread? What a wonderful idea!

I've been starting to watch your videos a couple at a time...SOOO COOL! I have to learn how to take videos (and how to upload them).

Those of you that know how...please keep them coming. Great fun to watch.

Marlton, NJ

Hi Nuts, Thanks for bumping this thread up. I had a good time watching all the video's again!

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

Man, what a neat thread. For those shooting the videos, it would be nice if you'd tell us the camera you are using. I have a Canon D7 on the way. Didn't buy it for video, but now I see these videos and wonder what kind of camera you folks are using.

I may give it a try.

Hey Hack, I've taken video with my 7D, point and shoots and my bird camera takes 10-second videos. The point and shoot videos are easier for me since the camera is so much lighter than the 7D. the one thing I learned early on is to be sure and turn off your image stabilization on the 7D lenses or you'll pick up a clicking sound.

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

"Turn off your image stabilization on the 7D lenses" - thanks for the tip, Mrs_Ed. Got the 7D yesterday - it is nice, Have only taken a few pics, Don't know anything about the 7D's video - yet. Since the 400 does not have IS, I'll have to make a point to remember to turn IS off when I put the new 70-300 L in the tripod. But, I kind'a plan to shoot the 70-300 free hand, so IS will be on.

My Nikon P5100 Coolpix does video and I'm used to it. I'm probably use it first.

Wonderful videos everyone. Burn, that gave me my Redpoll fix for a while. LOL

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

LOL GG, I'm assuming there was enough Redpolls there for you?...... Sad thing is I never got their visit of these, last winter. Neither the Bohemian Waxwings and Pine Grosbeaks. Sure hope they show up this Winter. They all make the cold season bearable.
Hack, I think most of the videos I've posted here, were from my fine pix fuji camera.

A new season is beginning, Time for bath, courting, and nesting has arrived. thought it would be a good time to bring this thread back to life.

The Robin was so glad to see the puddle of freezing cold water. He decided a to have a dip in it. :)

Thank you Burnadette for the lovely, refreshing, juvinating antic of the Robin. I also enjoyed the juvenile sapsucker and the upbeat music. That's one is for Donna and all of us that missing her. Hugs.
