I've been searching hard for a thyme that does not have pink flowers. There are several pictured in Plantfiles, but I've had little success when contacting members for a trade.I went googling around for some time and finally I found this:
http://www.mountainvalleygrowers.com/thylemonfrost.htm
"Lemon Frost Thyme really lives up to its name. A rapid grower with wonderful lemon scent, it is perfect for covering large segments of ground. In the picture to the left, this one year old Lemon Frost Thyme is about 18 inches in diameter and is starting to show its frosting white bloom!"
I don't know enough about family, genus, etc. to add it to Plantfiles.
It is a "round leaved" thyme.
Maybe someone could put it in there so I can add it to my want list!!!!!
:)
I'll have to spend $45 to order it from these people, but I will.
And THEN I can add it to my "have" list!
:D
I found an unlisted Thyme
If you want to create your own entry, here's the info you'd enter on the first page:
Common name: Lemon Frost Thyme
Family: Lamiaceae
Genus: Thymus
Species: leave blank
Cultivar: Lemon Frost
Then once the entry is created, go to the plant's page and add some of the detailed information on the plant. Look at what your website link says about things like flower color, hardiness, height, etc and check off the appropriate boxes. You may not have all the info, but it's helpful to put in whatever you have.
Thanks.
I was almost brave enough to go for it, but I don't know my family from my genus.
All I know how to recognize is a cultivar.
I'll enjoy entering it, thanks for the info!
Other details:
Drought-tolerant; suitable for xeriscaping
This plant is resistant to deer
I forgot to say "fragrant" and the link to add info is no longer active. How do I???
Found it!
Couple more thymes that need adding:
Daylight Saving Thyme Thymus delusiorum subsp. americanus
British Summer Thyme Thymus delusiorum subsp. britannicus
And one for the Bug Files:
Thyme flies Tempus fugit
Happy April Fool's Day! ;-)
