CLOSED: Feeding on evergreen plant.
This appears to be a pale morph of the Virginian tiger moth, Spilosoma virginica, commonly known as the yellow bear - see http://tinyurl.com/4tm6fcc for an example. Caterpillars of this species show a tremendous range in color, from nearly pure white to very dark brown.
