While in the area, the BB also stopped by to look at this house. Last spring I thought they may 'sign the lease' on this one. But they rejected the house then. Who knows what happens with this year progress.
Bird Nesting & Their Activities in Your Garden & Mine 2011
LOL, good pic!
Poor babies! They look so vulnerable. Whose are their parents, Ginger?
This is mum.
She is a Willie Wagtail. (Rhipidura leucophrys)

Ah! One of my favorite (smaller) birds from Margaret's Ospreys threads, beside the Ospreys themselves. :) Thanks Ginger.
Love the Willy Wagtails!
Lily...it is a treat to see all the birds in your area and the competition for the nest boxes!! You have got so much action and how fortunate that you have such
a wonderful view of all that is happening. I remember the year you had the Phoebes nesting and hope you get them again. I thought I heard one this morning but that could be wishful thinking on my part!!
Awww, the solitary youngen seems to grow well, look at the fuzzy downy feather. Ginger, since I'm in the Southern State, perhaps, due to warmer spring temp. here thus more birds' activity with nesting. Thanks for contributing to the thread.
No, that's a neat looking nest build with mudd? We've Swallows that build cummunial Mudd houses in the thousand beneath bridges nearby here. We jokingly call those houses 'condos' dwellers.
I won't have nests for probably another 4-6 weeks.
Marna, I hope you will join in and share your nesting birds in the garden with us once they begin. Like I've mentioned before Brown Thrashers are busying nesting preparation here too. I was so tickled that DH proudly announced the other day that a Brown Thrasher with twigs in his beak. I think we've 2 BT's nests. One on our front Rose arbor, the other in the sideyard. Wheeeeees!!!!
Since last weekend, there are these pair of Blue Birds rountinely come to check out the new nest box to the side yard on a daily basic. Today, the female arrived with her beau, then she went into the house as usual while he stood guard. Then a Chickadee, perhaps didn't know the Blue was inside? She arrived mins. later, and tried to enter the house. Needless to say she(the chikadee) exited the bird house in no time flat. And the handsome blue beau just stood their there and showed no aggression. I'm still not sure either has stake claim to the nest box. But the BBs have staked out in the vicinity more and more often throughout the day today. Here is the male Blue just minutes ago.

Very nice pics Lily!
I sure will share! Sounds like the blues are the winners. awww. feel sorry for the chickadee though!
That is nice!
Ginger, the first one looks kinda like a messy nest that a Dove may have built? The second one -- is that a hummingbird's like next? Cool looking.
Your BFW is adorable! Please share pix of eggs.
Marna, the Carolina Chickadees are pretty persistent little darling. I don't believe they have given up their quest for a home yet. I'll keep you posted.
...just now though, I saw the Chickadee entered the nest box. awww I hope they won't get into a battle over the nest box. Pix is too blurry to post.
maybe you can put up a second box with a hole restrictor for the chickadee.
Do tell, how small should the hole be please? Maybe a cut out- pvc ring attatchment onto the opening will do the job?
Poor babies! They look so vulnerable. Whose are their parents, Ginger?
Rather than start the whole story again.
Here is a link to the complete story from Daves Garden.

It starts about half way down the Thread.
Cool shot. [can you get any closer ?]
Did you save the environment and walk there ?
Congrats Lily!
How exciting, LL!
Thanks Ginger for sharing them here. That's just adorable! How in the world can they manage to keep the nest from tipping over? What kind of hatchlings are they?
Picture # 2.
They are the Willie Wagtails.
This is what they sound like:
