I had the pleasure of black swallowtail butterfly caterpillars feasting on my parsely this past summer. They were a joy to watch.

The image is too out of focus to see any detail. If they were not moving, they may be droppings ('frass') of the caterpillars.
yep, I agree....looks like frass to me. If you look at your picture of the cats you can see frass at the base of the stems also. What goes in must come out..LOL!
Eeeewwww!!!! I washed it into the garden. Great fertilizer. Hope I get another visit again this year. Thanks for the info, and a new word added to my vocabulary (frass).
