I have a large agave that used to be quite beautiful but now it seems that it is getting eaten. I had a similar problem last spring with some crape myrtles. Is it possible that it's the same culprit? Does anyone know recognize this type of damage? What can I do about it? I have another agave about 20 feet away that is untouched and I had another crape myrtle about 3 feet from the other one that too was untouched. Any help would be appreciated! I'm in the west phoenix area in Arizona.
What is eating my plants?
This looks more like mammal than insect damage to me. Try putting a chicken wire screen around them.
