Hi, I'm hoping to identify this spider! I've seen them around my house usually around spring and summer. This is located near San Jose in Northern California.
I've gone through tons of ID photos but can't be sure. Does anyone know?
Here's a few other shots (unfortunately a bit warped as I'm taking the picture though glass)

Hope to hear from you!
CLOSED: Unsure Spider
I cannot see enough detail on this specimen to be confident of an i.d.; it has some resemblance to members of the families Gnaphosidae and Amaurobiidae. Clearly focused close-up photos of its 'face' showing the eye pattern and from directly directly overhead would help. In the meantime, you might try looking through images at http://tinyurl.com/cjcxds and http://tinyurl.com/5b3tvr to see if you see anything promising.
Well, I couldn't get a better shot of it. Yes it looks like a, "Gnaphosid spider" http://nathistoc.bio.uci.edu/spiders/Gnaphosid.htm
Though, mine has a distinguishing stripe you can see in my photo: http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/9061/img0138yp.jpg
Anyways, it wasn't easily recognized as dangerous so I'm satisfied.
THANKS
