This had nothing whatsoever to do with the DaVinci code.
I didn't read it, but never understood why so many people, including the Catholic Church, got so worked up about it. It's fiction! Never pretended to be fact.
Thats Entertainment Pt # 7
I'm not buying Charlie Sheen's unhinged behavior. I think it's by design. What he thinks he will accomplish is beyond me, but unlike most people, I don't think he's really this crazy.
I know it was fiction but besides people getting worked up over all the errors in it, there was the flip side that people actually thought it was truth
There is a lot of opposition to organized religeon out there.
Charlie is deep into addiction. He centers on himself and is deluded into believeing he is the center of his own universe.
No way thats normal.
If no one payed any attention to him he wouldnt feed the fire.Media is really low on interesting news if this is all they have to report.
I could care less if he self distructs. There are other comics to take his place.
There will always be dumb people.
No one in Hollywood is normal. I nominate him for Dr Jack.
Yessss thats the idea.
He's going to be on some talk show this week, saw the commercial...man he looks HORRIBLE
His body is turning in on itself. He looks like he is loosing muscle as well as fat.
I wonder what other diseases he is suffering from.
I said the same thing JoAnn... he looks frail
I just watched a fantastic movie. "Get Low" with Robert Duvall and Sissy Spacik. Great story and scenery was just astounding beautiful.
Duvall is a great actor.
Agree!
So is Spacik, much underrated methinks.
Jo, glad to know I'm not the only one here who's kinda liberal. I'm more in between, I guess. I will have to watch You Don't Know Jack. I just added it to my Netflix queue. I second that nomination for Sheen for Dr. Jack.
Karen
Oh No! Poor Charlie!!
-Boo hoo!

Sorry Charlie
great movie
I had to fight back the tears in the opening scene with that old man looking for his friends in the graves of Normandie. - powerful movie - as I don't cry easily, 'Tosca' is another one ...
I agree its a great movie but it has been aired tooooooo many time here.
I also liked Band of Brothers a series about WW2
DH owns Band of Brothers and Private Ryan too.
I don't have tv service so I'm my own programing director. With over 1000 movies on disk I choose my night's lineup. (lol...)
I grew up duering WW2 and saw newsreals of the action.
I watched movies made of the various battles ( PR stuff really)That glorified war. John Wayne, Gregory Peck etc Seeing these films again just makes me angry.
The same emotional patriotism is used to requte young men now to fight a war that is not based on saving people from a tyrant but keeping the oil flowing.
These movies never made the action so real as Band of Bros. The real officer who narrated most of the series just died recently.
Way to go WC.
I limit my viewing to after 11AM except for the news at 8AM.
I also rent 4 stars or higher from netflix.
I rise so early I am in bed by 7PM and asleep by 8. so I miss the drivvle that passes for amusement.
Not to get this subject started. I had watched reruns of 2 and 1/2 men from 7-8. I dont know what all the excitement is about. Sheene can be replaced as far as I'm concerned.
ENOUGH on that.
I never liked the glorification of war. There's nothing wonderful about tragedy and misery.
- It is what it is.
agree.
I love the smell of napalm in the morning!
Without war, think of how many more people there would be. We can't feed and clothe the ones we have.
Its the false impression we are fighting to preserve our freedom that galls me.
We cannot be free without oil. Need gasoline to deliver plants.
Those plants are going to get expensive. (lol)
All kidding aside, everything's going to get expensive.
I don't like the glorification of war, either. There's nothing glorious in it. I do support our troops, though, as they keep our country free, and I feel the Vietnam Vet has really gotten a bum rap. Everyone else gets cheers, while all they got were jeers. I know people have changed their way of thinking since then, but it's a shame what they had to go through.
Have not seen any good movies all week. I want to go and see The Fighter with Mark Walburg.
Karen
I just want to see Mark Walburg in anything.
His brother isnt bad either.
Loved him in Boomtown.
Watched Back to the Future with the kids last night. Good fun.
My DW loves the Back to the Future movies.
Never saw the two sequels. Will rent them now.
Part III is my fav, but then you need to see part II to see how Doc gets trapped. - fun movies,
too bad about MJF's Parkinson's, that's the same illness my BIL has.
Yes it is. Loved him on Family Ties.
So did I, ... 'Teen Wolf' and 'The Secret of My Success' were good ones too; also saw 'Casualties of War', but I didn't care for it much.
Sad about Michael J Fox...he's been a good representative, and seems like a sincerely good family guy.
If you need a break from the war films and male-dominated dramas, I suggest:
"The Last Seduction": Linda Fiorentino as a strong sociopath.
"Montana": Kyra Sedgwick (showing some real acting chops) as a mob player.
