Every day we have minimum 1 of those flies in our apartment in Richmond/Melbourne. This one I found dead between our cuttlery.
How are these orange flies called?
I come from Europe, so I am more used to black flies :-)
CLOSED: What kind of fly is this?
About all I can offer is that this is appears to be a calypterate muscoid fly, possibly a calliphorid.
Do you have a more common name for me?
Calliphorids commonly are known as 'blow flies'; their larvae are carrion feeders.
