Hello all I had been away for awhile, but recently have once again contributed to the forum.
To start off, I have a shot of the American Kestrel Falcon

Here's a couple shots of the beautiful, yet not often seen by me, Female Purple Finch
2nd Purple Finch. Have not seen the male...seems for skittish than the female
Next up is the Kinglet. I always seem to capture them on a humble while looking for other birds; they just appear out of nowhere...anyway. I like the fall colors with this one.

Next up is the young Great Blue Heron. I was tickled pink to get a shot of this handsome little fella. I particularly like how funny it looks with those long legs and small body - remind me of little kids bodies have not caught up with their heads.

Carolina Wren in one of its favorite spots!
I kept trying to get the Carolina Wren & the White-throated Sparrow in the same shot.
I finally gave up and did each separately!

I have to tell you guys, I am definitly obsessed with these birds, I went out and was listening to hear my red-bellied woodpecker pecking, when I heard a very loud peck! I zeroed in on it and it was a Pileated Woodpecker, I tried to get a bead on it so I could snap a shot and every time I moved, it would move further down the street. I was almost to the next block and lost sight of it and it was not pecking anymore so I did not get a shot, but that does not mean I have given up, I had to warm up my toes and fingers, so will try it again soon. I think he lives down at the Marina, but it is too cold to stroll down there. So will wait until it gets warmer, but we have one.

Met, what a wonderful new start. Such beautiful photos of all the birds. I loved that hungry or yawning baby-so sweet. Loved that downy too-such pretty colors!

I've noticed the water in the birdbath out in the front garden has been quickly disappearing, here's the reason...
This Brewer's Blackbird refused to allow any other bird in "his" bath.
Here's a Mourning Dove enjoying the sun.

The Robins are still here looking pretty.

I have another question, I have 3 small pkgs. of Planters salted peanuts, do you think it would be alright if I just put them in the feeder the way they are? They are already shelled and they are small, do you think that will attract the wp? There is still some mixed seed in there and I will put sunflower seeds in it later because I ran out of mixed seed. I also ran out of pure cap hot sauce, I used the last of it today, so I will return to the Sudden Death, but can't use as much, and have to be careful about getting the fumes to my face.
Sorry Teddy but there is way too much salt on those peanuts for birds. If there is suet out they should come to that or the other seed (which they will if their hungry enough). Just wait till you can buy some unsalted peanuts.

No vacancy at the feeder this morning after last night's snow. Could the goldfinches be starting to don their yellow this early?

Duc, , if that Blackbird didn't want to part with the birdbath, he sure made sure the others got a bath as well. lol nice series, always so sharp.
Oh bad, bad snow, Pelle but so pretty on the trees and fence.
Some have notice the yellow getting more intense on the Goldfinch. Wouldn't it be nice, if it meant an early Spring. great picture of the female Cardinal.
