I looked in the bug files, and it seems that this fellow found in my yard this past autumn is a Pterophylla camellifolia, the Common True Katydid in the bug files here, but I want to be sure.
Is this a "Common True Katydid"?
This is a false katydid (subfamily Phaneropterinae); likely a Microcentrum sp. - see http://tinyurl.com/4tyq4d3 A true katydid has a much different appearance- see http://tinyurl.com/5rhzrlt
