DAILY BIRD PICS VOL #376

Port Elizabeth, South Africa(Zone 10a)

Red-eye Dove

I am so sorry about the quality - they were all taken over the street at the limits of the camera, I tried many settings, could not improve.

What a great sight to see! Thanks Rian, I love the birds you see.

pelle ,I think we were reading minds ..

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

I too appreciate Rian's contribution to our Forum. Such wonderful variety of exotic birds and natural beauty from a land that's far away. Thanks Rian. Those eyes! They are almost like that of Grackles' eyes. They look very bright and focus.

Look at what's making my day besides hearing from a friend via dmail. Then this 'ole friend' revisited; Mitchell, yep my Redbellied Woodpecker is back, he's checking out my new 'Chalet' bird-feeder. I could jump for joy!

Luck of the day - I was not prepared so pic is dark - but Whimbrel, I think. Resin can you confirm, maybe Curlew, but they do not have the def white brow?? They (whimbrel) breed in North America and Europe, I understand, so a visitor.

Wow, just imagine a bird that travelled the distance to visit! How cool!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Wow...that is neat! So amazing the distances our feathered friends maange to cover!

Northumberland, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

Yep, Whimbrel. By the end of April, it'll be passing me on its way to the Arctic to breed. Flight distance 11,000 km.

Thanks Resin - can I send you anything? I will catch it and ask it to deliver! LOL! - just remember no perisables - don't think it will look great after 5500km!

Just wanted to add: Thanks for the nice comments and looking at my grainy pics - I am working hard to improve, but I think it will only come with some better equipment.
