Canada, isn't today your Thanksgiving Day? If so how do you celebrate it? Is turkey on the menu? Happy Thanksgiving!

Yes today is Thanksgiving in Canada.

Last evening I had my family (all my children & grandchildren) for thanksgiving dinner, we had it on Sunday evening as my one daughter had to come from the mainland, a 2 hour ferry ride away, and she has to work on Tuesday morning so we could not have it tonight for her.

For a change I served a Ham, we also had roast potatoes, roast parsnips, steamed Brussel sprouts, and a casserole of sweet potatoes and turnips done gratin style (recipe courtesy of the Naked Chef).

Tonight we are going to my other daughters this time she will be serving turkey with all the trimmings. So we will have had 2 thanksgiving dinners this weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving to all you Canadians.

We just got back from my fathers place up north where I took my children, husband and mother in law for turkey dinner. The leaves are changing and while we were at the farm we had a light sprinkling of snow. The geese were gathering in the front fields and the fire was on when we got there.
I can hardly wait till Christmas until we can do it again (although I may not take the Mother in law again :)

We sure do have a lot to be thankful for. Thank you to all of our southern neighbors for remembering our holiday. It is also a sad day for us as it is the first day of war for you. I hope everything goes well and it is a short one with no more american lives lost. Take care and God Bless you everyone.
