My request for who is still in DG

Lake Stevens, WA

Wannadanc
So sorry. I have heard so much about that on the news. I hope they find him soon so that you and your family will have closure.
I just got back from Stevens Pass and saw your post. I have 2 sons that ski and all 3 of my family (DH,2 boys)snowmobile on Mt. Baker. I'm on pins and needles until they arrive home.
Prayers your way.

Thank you all for your kind and caring comments! Paul was an advanced skilled skier, and used to be part of the ski patrol up at Crystal. He was very much known there, and knew the area. Consensus at this time is that he got trapped in tree well. Tough stuff, for sure.

Lol, Pix, he'll come back speaking botanical Latin with a French accent! (Good to hear Steve was pulling your leg-I just remembered your horror story of your ski day...)

Isn't that what happens? He'll probably be surprised at how much he 'knows' .

Gotta go check out that link.

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

Sorry to those who are concerned about Melissa but she is strong and yes a mother, but my mother made it through and she knows me better because of all the adventure she experienced with me. I know he will be coming home full of life experiences and the joy of self achievment. Pixy is proud and know her strong son.
I too enjoyed that link and when Karen and I get free of her work schedule we will be seeking something like that.
Wanna so sorry for your loss. I too fell into a tree well, only I was lucky.

Oh yes, Steve, I believe we understand each other for sure! So Andrew had a 'snowboarding' day with a professional instructor and all went well. He had a great time, of course. We are quite proud of how he has worked for this, saved money, then followed through. Following through is always half the battle.

Mike and i would love to take advantage of some of the 'workaway' opportunities. We just need to figure out a way to make our house payment while we're away. But, then, we're trying to figure that out to spend time on the boat, too. we're thinking of renting it out for short periods of time to people who come to the military bases for brief tours of duty. I guess there is a need for furnished houses for this purpose.

Pixie, I admire your adventurousness (is that a word?). I am somewhat of a hermit and don't have a strong desire to travel. My husband does. Hence, a bit of a conundrum, especially as we approach our retirement years. Hopefully we can find common ground.

I just wish my funds matched my desire for travel. I want to go to Bled, Slovenia.

And what is in Bled, Portland? My neighbors took a family trip to Slovenia last year and met their ancestral family for the first time. They had a blast.

A very cool castle, and the area is so beautiful. And there's skiing - wonderful skiing.

Well that sounds like enough to me! (Especially the castle part) Perhaps you have some long lost relatives with whom you can stay...

Wow, Look at you all just visiting away. I miss way too much
when veggin' . Spring has sprung here in the Pac. NW of Canada.
New thread someone?

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

Bonehead, I'm a bit of a hermit, too, and have very little desire to travel. I am happiest when just fixing up my house, my gardens, and spending time with my family, dogs, cats, and friends. My late husband always wanted to travel (mainly in the US by car) so I do have a bit of sadness that we didn't do that before he died. But he also understood my need for constancy. It can indeed be a bit of a problem when a couple's needs are so different.

Hi, all. Just back after a few months of life (and death) in the NICU and ready for some restoration of the soul here. Also found out that my subscription had expired so I just renewed and am happy to see so many familiar names again.

I renewed in November. I go to DG on a daily basis....many friends here. SpringColor has suggested that I visit here with you. See you on the new thread.

Great! Good to see you both and it finally feels like folks are coming out of the hibernating doldrums.

Whoops! I thought there was a new thread started. I started a new thread regarding my new garden bed. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1172133/ if you want to check it out and give me some advice.
