CLOSED: Green bug

Tamesis, Antioquia, Colombia(Zone 12a)

I had this picture for a couple of years now. It was taken in Colombia near the border with panama. Very interesting looking bug.
Does anyone knows what it is??

This appears to be an orchid bee (Hymenoptera: Apidae, tribe Euglossini; possibly in the genus Exaerete - see http://tinyurl.com/33ujlzy for an example. Males of these bees collect scents from all sorts of fragrant objects, including flowers, dead wood, and even feces; storing them in their modified hind legs.

Wow...
I would have never thought it was a Bee. Although it makes sense since it was going from flower to flower as other bees do.

Thank you!!

You're quite welcome; bees, like people, can come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and colors.
