I have started this seedling on December 10th.
Yesterday all of a sudden the bottom leaves are curling.
Why ??
Any help will be appreciated
My PEPPER SEEDLING leaves are curling
drthor, It is tough to tell with limited info and the pictures you've posted, but the closeups of the wilted peppers look really wet to me. I don't know if that is because they were just watered, or if they just appear that way. My first thought is that they have been kept overly wet which can contribute to disease and cause wilting. If you think this might be the case, cut way back on watering, and keep them much drier than you have been. With small plants like yours, over-watering can be more damaging to plants than under-watering as small plants are extremely susceptible to infection from soil borne pathogens.
I have stopped watering ... I will wait and see
So, how are the peppers with curly leaves doing/
They are doing ok. Thanks for asking.
The peppers are now about 10" tall. They are seating in the back porch ... taking the sun ... They are in a larger pot now and they are waiting to be planted outside. Still too early thought.
The other day I noticed the newest tineyest leaves on some of my pepper plants were curled and remembered the fight I had with this last year. It turns out that my peppers were invaded by thrips so I went to work on them in a non- oganic fasion. The pepers are doing fine now. It's what happened to me last year and the years before.
A little off topic, but thrips love onion plants at least in my garden, so beware! The area outside my garden is pasture thus the thrips.
How did you treat for thrips non-organic?
