On clear days there is only enough light for bird photography between 11:00 AM & 3:00 PM. The street lights turned off at 10:14 AM yesterday. So I haven't been taking many pictures. Thankfully the days start getting longer tomorrow! I did get some of the first Bohemian Waxwing pictures of the season to day.
This fellow has a freshly pick berry.
Frozen berries can be very slippery and easily dropped.

A second clear day, and I took a few more Waxwing shots.
There is an over abundance of berries this year, and the flocks are spread thinly over large areas, making it more difficult to photograph.
I had difficulty finding Waxwings on the end of limbs, with a nice blue sky background, today.
The 5th grade class in Quinhagak, Alaska, a small remote native village, produced a christmas vidio which is so good it has gone viral, on the internet! It's well worth watching. Hallelujah Chorus -Quinhagak, Alaska: check it out at the following link:

The Waxwings look like trapeze artist, with the acrobatics they preform picking berries.

The wind was blowing last night, and blew the snow off the trees. A little snow on top of the red berries improves the pictures.

After sitting in the clouds for several days, the fog lifted for just a couple of hours this afternoon. The ice fog had coated the trees with a heave blanket, of light fluffy hoarfrost.
When the fog lifted, I dropped everything and went looking for birds in frosted trees.
I drove around for over an hour, before finding a flock of Waxwings.
I finally found a large flock, however most of the birds were milling around high in the trees.
There is a heave fog again this evening. I hope we get another clear spell, before a wind blows the hoarfrost off the trees.
