I have never frequented a chat room on the internet other than DG's until today. I went into the CNN chatroom and just watched all the conversations from people all over the world, Pakistan, Iraq, Bosnia, UK, Canada - I stayed about 2 hrs. just watching and hearing the criticism of our great country - I can't believe that Americans are so unpopular - Think I'll stay out of there from now on!

I wouldn't worry about people who spend time in the news chat rooms. Most (not all) are partially informed and as we all know, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Personally I prefer to know what I'm talking about before I even think about debating a subject. Others prefer hearsay and gossip as its often more fun and not very reliable.

As for the US being unpopular, don't take it to heart, all countries are unpopular in one way or another and that includes with some of the people who are resident in them too :)

Dont worry i would rather live in the west than those countries anyhow,i can have a moan and i do too, dont worry these peple who are sometimes anti could do with a dose of living in these so called muslin countries and i am not being racist, i speak as a women who can be very forceful, so just take it with a piece of salt.

Baa, i wasn't chatting just reading, I don't like the idea of talking to strangers who are ill informed, but it was interesting to hear what some are saying, fascinating - thanks for the encouragement, but i work for the OPD and know that chat rooms breed problems, just wanted to see for myself

Open-mindedness helps. They say, all type of people make this world. Toleration is the key! Free expression is being misused in chat-rooms these days and they take things too far. Some are even deliberate. Just to watch the fun. So it is better not to take these things seriously. I agree with what Baa says.
