Are Morning glory vines suitable to wintersowing?

I know that I have a lot of Morning glory vines that come back every year, so I was just wondering, can you winter sow them now and expect them to come up in the spring?

You don't need to wintersow morning glories. They will reseed themselves. If you want them in a different place, just throw some seeds on the ground there. I have some seeds from an expensive Japanese morning glory I grew this summer, and those I will grow in pots, starting them in the spring. If it was Heavenly Blue, I would just collect them and throw them under my privet hedge.

Thanks, I was thinking of tossing some in some hanging baskets for the spring, but I didn't want to wait. If they reseed themselves, then they should be fine to start right? Thanks a bunch, ibartoo

They do reseed themselves. I had a bunch of Kniola's Black growing together with the expensive Japanese morning glories in a big pot this year. I collected all the expensive seed production and some of the Kniola's Black as backup, but most of the Kniola's Black I cracked open the pods and sprinkled them on top of the dirt of the pot, because I know I will use that again next year.
