My mother has a hugh Lantana, and it is in Full bloom right now, But we are expecting a frost tonight. How does she need to prepare it for the winter?? should it be cut back?? Mulched? left alone?? what???? Need to know ASAP!! so she can get it done before tonight!
Need to know...
Molly, think we are both in zone 7 ,even tho 2,ooo mi apart.Lantanas here are never protected .It is a plant u try to kill [at my mom's yard too] and never dies. I'm sure someone else will tell u different, tho.Janie
she is really needing to know, so she can do whatever she needs to do. I myself have never had any Lantana, so I don't have any idea on how to prep it for winter. How do you do your's? I mean do you just leave it? and let it die back? or what??
Mollybee
Molly, I never protect mine. We live 'right down the street' so don't worry. I don't do anything except cut it back to the ground once the top is dead. Some don't even get that until spring.
OK Thanks tiG, I will call and tell her, she sure was worried that she was going to have to dig it up and bring it in, and you know she ain't in no shape for digging!
Thanks Again ya'll
