Seed ID ?

Jackson, MO(Zone 6b)

I have seeds that I thought was hyacinth bean vine seed. They are large - about an inch- mostly black with pinky purple spots on them. I saved them from my vine I grew this summer. The bean pods were about 6 inches long and had about 3 seeds per pod in them.
What is this seed?
Then, there's a seed that is black and has a very conspicuous white line around half of the seed - on the edge of the seed, when the seed lies flat on a surface. I think that's hyacinth bean seed.
So, what kind of seed did I save?
If no one can answer this question, I will get my camera and take a picture.

you are right about the hyacinth bean. sorry have no clue about the other one w/purple spots

Here is a picture of this seed. I think it's a runner bean. It's not scarlet runner bean 'Painted Lady" as the flowers were not red nor red and white, but orchid or purple pink with a lighter purple pink. They are large beans almost an inch. If it is runner bean, then which one is it?

is it the size of a kidney bean? Could be a speckled kidney bean.

Yes, I think it's the size of a kidney bean, however, this bean grows into a vine.

there is a pink version of the scarlett runner bean, maybe that?

This bean vine puts out a fuschia (red purple) flower that of course, looks like a bean flower.

I agree - scarlet runner bean. Here is a pic of the seeds. Hard to tell if a match from your pic though.
Google runner bean seeds and you will find more.

minn: Yes, that's the bean. I thought that was it, but I was confused. It is called "Scarlet" (meaning red) but the flowers are fuchsia. Thanks for solving the mystery seed.

wonder if it used like the "purple"/"blue" color...looks purple but is says blue...always confuses me.

I guess that must be the situation. When I first started gardening, I chose cultivars that described the bloom as "red". When the flowers bloomed, they were a red-purple. I was kind of disappointed. I read somewhere that men that described and named flowers more frequently described the color incorrectly because more men are slightly color blind.
