Texas Wildscape Native Seed Trade Thread #2
Where are people's addresses posted?
Cheryl
I still need AJ's address to mail seeds.
Cheryl, you can find it at the top of the home page under "extras" but I got it for you.

AJN-Do you still want the Chiltepin seeds? If so dmail me
Lisa
I don't think you will have access to the addy section unless you have listed your own.
Goofball.....in Plano
May I ask for the Huisache; Acacia farnesiana seeds? If I can offer anything on my list please ask, and we can swap envelopes. If not, I will be happy to send you a SASE if you will dmail me your address please.
I also second the request for you to edit and put in some returns on your post...it is making the thread too wide for my 21 inch screen!
Okay, I've made the changes to my original post. Sorry about the screwy line widths.
Hopefully it's not causing any more trouble. If it looks funny, just let me know, and I'll try to fix it.
Here are the requests I've gotten so far:
Josephine needs Texas persimmon and cotton
AJNTEXAS needs Texas persimmon, Texas thistle, huisache, and cotton
Allwild needs Texas persimmon and bluebonnet seeds
Sheila needs huisache
txaggiegal needs Texas persimmon and creosote
Dane needs huisache and cotton
Wow, so quite a few people need Texas persimmon seeds. I guess I'll have to split them
between y'all. Since I only have five Texas thistle seeds, they're all going to AJNTEXAS.
If I have missed anyone, let me know. Sheila, thank you for offering, but I think I'm good on
wildflower seeds for now.
Sorry for being so cryptic, Josephine. My name is Brandon. I will sign my name at the end
of my posts from now on.
Brandon

Thank you Brandon, it is nice to know your name. The width of the thread is fine now and we all appreciate that you fixed it.
If you come to the swap in the spring I can give you an Agave pup, they are very nice and the mother plant is busy making more.
Josephine.
Anyone grow engleman daisy?
C
I don't but I would like to get some.
Josephine, that would be great if I can make it to the swap. Thanks!
Whew, everything looks so normal now. Brandon.....
Haha, yeah. Sorry about earlier, Lisa.
Brandon
Thank you for the seeds and reducing the post too! Look forward to meeting you in person at the Spring Round Up. It is usually in April or first part of May. We can't set the date just yet until some of the main gardening events others are involved with are firmly in place.
Sheila
I hope I can make the spring RU this year. Don't know if I'll have much to bring of my own as most of my plants are young, but I'll try. :)
Brondon,
I would like to try some of your Huisache seeds, I've been looking for some for a few years. I would also like to try your cotton, I got some blue cotton this year and The history of it is interesting to me.
Thanks
Dane
Alright Dane, your request has been added.
Brandon
Brandon, could I have some of the cotton seed please?
Thank you.
Okay, Josephine. Your request has been added, too.
Brandon
Thank you Brandon, you are a sweetheart.
Josephine.
Sheila,
I am putting your seeds in the mail today, do not worry about a SASE.
Cheryl
Ok Cheryl....I appreciate that.
My seeds will go out Monday to those who asked.
It has been a great start for a seed trade, maybe we can get more peope to participate the next time.

I can understand why Brandon's user name is Goofball. Hehe
I am really wanting some Texas Madrone seeds. Does anyone have even a few to spare?
Tonya
Not me Tonya.
Thanks Josephine. I remembered that we had discussed that before. Was hoping someone out there might actually have a madrone tree and had saved some seeds.
Tonya
Well, it is not impossible, so who knows it could happen!!
I'm not in the address exchange.
waiting on dmails----addresses for:
frostweed
realbirdlady
I have your seed packages ready.
thanks everyone!! I really look forward to growing all of the natives and wildflowers!!! All of mine would do fine wintersown, some of them will certainly need to be stratified. I've learned that the natives will sprout when they are ready... not necessarily when you plant the seeds!! LOL
All what is your experience with those that do not need to be chilled? I have several that say they need no pre-treatment, do you think they will still be ok outside? I mean they are natives and so the seeds must survive the winter.
C
Well guys, unless things ease up a bit around here, I probably won't send mine out for a while, so don't give up on me, there is still plenty of time.
Josephine.
newtons, you're right about some of the natives not needing chilled, but wintersowing is still a great way to go! as soon as the temps are to their liking, they will sprout.
My experiences is that in the past, I didn't give the seeds enough time! LOL and I'm over there planting something else in the same pot. then next thing I know, seeds I planted 'who knows when' are growing! HA I'm scratching my head trying to remember what I planted there before!
Realbirdlady....pls dmail your addy ..didn't find you in the exchange section.
I will mail your seeds out tomorrow (Monday)
Wow Sheila, you are really ahead, I guess I am being pulled in too many directions.
Well I had already gotten my seed packets done before listing them, so wasn't too much left for me to do. I am not as busy as you are either. I cook three meals a day and work in the yard a couple hours a day...then it is Pogo games! I don't volunteer much when it is cold outside. We are busy a lot with drs appts but not much else nowdays.
I've got almost all of the seeds packaged up and ready to go... just waiting on a mailing address for realbirdlady.
lol - So I'm holding up the entire wildlife certification process for the entire state? Here, anybody that wants to send me anything:
PO Box 4233
Austin TX 78765
Hmm, what should I send birdlady for holding up the whole state? LOL
Cool. I'll take the envelopes to the post office tomorrow. I'm not sure how much postage to use, since a few of them significantly thicker than a standard letter.
Think they will deliver it addressed to Realbirdlady? LOL!
Good question Sheila. I wondered that too.
We are about to find out!
