What's Happening in your neck of the woods?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Enjoy the banter re the the Timmies card Betty .. ^-^

Went into M&Ms today .. it was busy .. one of the cashiers mentioned that CPP was paid today, so, pensioners are out shopping .. and .. I did notice a few more folks in a gift shop I went into.

Tea with the Aunties was lovely as always. My Aunt opened the door of her condo wearing the TIARA her friends had gotten her .. of course, her dining room table was decked out festively, and the baking (all homemade by this 96yr old) was wonderful .. it was a great way to spend the afternoon.

TOMORROW is my LAST trip to town .. have ordered a meat and cheese tray for Xmas Eve, gets me off the hook for cooking :-) Having breakfast with some nursey buds .. and .. MAYBE .. ONE quick skeedaddle around Zellers

Hope every one has had a super day .. most especially, Carol ^_^

Glad you enjoyed your day "M" with the aunties...

Ordered the fruit/meal and veggie trays sure makes life a whole lot easier.

Must organize myself tonight to pack the most into tomorrow that I can..

Know I have to be in Midland to have 4 tires put on my vehicle, have to have the dressing made and brought into the grocery store so they can stuff the deboned turkey they are doing for me, pick up what I need to do the tortierre's and make them along with some fruit pies, lordy that should cover a good part of my day and evening..lol...

still trying to find out what to do with over 20 lap afghans and shoulder warmers I've done this past year for the seniors, guess the home didn't want them, so disappointing..

The Salvation Army may take the afghans Betty ... worth a try.

I have NEWS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last evening (Tues) the phone rang. It was Lilly's breeder. She was SO excited. Lilly's Aunt has had a litter of SEVEN WESTIES .. 4 girls and 3 boys. I had told her a year ago when a litter failed, that if she ever were to have another litter, I wanted a female .. well .. that was my call !!
I HAD to tell her we had a PIPER now, she understood .. I hung up, went to bed, and could hardly sleep ..
Lilly is such an absolutely wonderful dog .. temperament, size, coat .. on and on.
SO .. at the end of Feb 2011 or beginning of March, we will welcome 'Semmlers Miss Kate' (Katy) into our home joining Lilly and Piper and Smokey !!!
She is named 'KATE' in honour of Kate Middleton who will be marrying Prince William in 2011 (sappy huh) LoL

There you have it

LOL Timmie's card - Betty, Really funny!!!!!

~M~ what does having a Piper have to do with your getting another Westie? So great that you're getting the Westie you wanted!!

Well, off to do some cleaning/baking, etc...... Made some old-fashioned Mincemeat, now to make pies out of it.
Will make a "Farmer's Carrot Pudding" too.....

We didn't get any more rain with the storms that went through the Maritimes this week - some places got hit hard with storm surges yesterday. We had a mix of rain and snow but no accumulation. If you look in the right places you can see a white Christmas.
Picking up my brother at the airport tomorrow at 4:30. I will work till about 3 then on my way. Looking forward to some quiet time with good company, good conversation and good food.

Would any of the hospitals be interested in your afghans Betty?

Edmonton, AB(Zone 3a)

Looks like everyone is busy!
"M" I think you are getting a collection! LOL What a softie you are.
Susan I think I can smell that baking from here.
Betty I'm sorry that the Sr home wouldn't take your afgans, just a thought but when I was at the Cross in Edmonton, every room had a home made afgan on a chair with a little note that it was made with love and if it was needed it could go home with you. I didn't need it but the thought that someone I didn't know cared enough to make a blanket for me if I needed it, lifted my spirits when things were a bit scary.

I'm at work and yesterday had our "Family" stuff picked up and taken over to our adopted Family, the Social Worker was moved to tears and thanked us for making a difference to this single mom who was struggling. Good way to start this week off.
Today we are being fed lunch , do a gift exchange and go home early , not to return until January 3. Yahoo.
