Hay if you make it to Tx. you are not that far from me and are very welcome to come stay. We have plenty of room. We are about 8 to 10 hrs from Dallas
Baby It's cold outside: Brrrr:
Thank you so much Donna for the invitation, what a pleasure it would be to meet you, I have enjoyed so much of what you have shared with us. It would be fun also to reunite myself with Miss. Many, many years ago I dated a young girl from Jackson Mississippi. I met her while on maneuvers in Louisiana. 1956, only dated for two months as the Military kept me moving...Hope to see you...Hay
That would be wonderful Hay to meet you & the Misses
Haystack, your wife is thinking of the area I live in. The square at the top of Texas, the panhandle, is pretty barren looking, along with much of the western side of the state close to New Mexico. Here there are very few trees, but wheat, corn, grains, and cattle grow easily. In fact, at my horse lot where I have been emptying the chicken water, some kind of grain sprouted up and matured. I still don't know what it is, but I was amazed at that. It was something in the chicken scratch. Does that happen to anyone else? I was thinking it would be neat to just take a big bag of chicken scratch and plant it in the spring and see what happens. :D
Drive 80 miles south and the terrain begins to change considerably. Dallas and Fort Worth are lovely, with mild weather, and Houston, gets no snow at all. Austin is gorgeous. Tell your wife they grow oranges and grapefruits in south Texas.
What is really bothering me about this area though is the crime. It's not right to be invaded by a foreign country and just ignore it.
Hay, I'd be willing to come up and purchase some of your hens. I'm esp looking for a Buckeye and a Wellsummer. But am open to others. Just let me know when you get ready.
Very cool you are going traveling. I do hope you'll stop by my place on your way out of Washington!
LFJ: That is a subject very dear to my heart. I have in seventy-threes year of life had two occupations. The Ministry (Pastoring) and Law enforcement. I was very supportive of George Bush until he refused to take a stand and deal firmly with our immigration problem. Being reelected was more important than Border Security. Even in his own home state. Also what the Feds have done to the good people of Arizona just makes me sick. If you read the book of Habbakuk you will see that was also his complaint. No justice, no one in places of power cared. Well God had a surprise in store for him, and I believe God will in the end be the great Justifier. Just hold on, reach deep into your faith and we shall all see what our Great God has in store for us...stay safe my dear...Hay
Hi Gwen, I would love to stop by and see your girls and say hi to you. The invitation is well taken and probably this comming spring i'll contact you before stopping over.
Gwen I'm sorry but all I have left is a couple old hen I would not pawn off to anyone, the rest are Seramas, which are only good for pets...Hay
I know this is way off track, but my wife and I have been having a blast working and helping out our Senior Center. I believe it's a great cause...The lady in this pic is tough as nails, but a true sweetheart...Hay

oh how wonderful
Thanks Donna: Working with the Seniors is such a humbling experience. I can't get over how tough and yet energetic these beautiful people are. I feel so touched to have the opportunity to serve this great group of people...Hay
I just found this thread. Had no idea what was going on at your place. I am so sorry about the birds you lost. I had a roo freeze a couple weeks back. Beautiful guy that roosted in a bad spot. Guess pretty does not equal intelligent. :(
I know how you feel about the traveling. Our animals really tie us down. We could not go on any extended vacations but it would be so nice to be able to go hom for a week and visit the family. I have 1 goat for sale and all my game birds. I also have 4 horses for sale. I could get somebody to feed the rest for me if I got the pen situations straightened out. I am about to the point of getting rid of nearly everything. Now if I can just get DH on board.
You will have to come across country and visit us here in the Appalachians. It would be so good to see you and to meet Mrs. Hay. I already know she is a special lady. The deepest canyon east of the Grand Canyon is only 25 minutes from my house!
Haystack you are a winner!!!
Dont forget Georgia on your travels!! My place is small, but cozy! I would lo-ove to have you both come visit.........or stay!!
Billy loves your picture Mr Haystack That was a wonderful thing you did..
I can't tell you that have invited us, how very appealing the offer is. That is really one of my great desires, to visit face to face with you. There is really nothing quite like actually seeing and spending some time with those who have come to be such a great part our lives. I still tell my wife from time to time, how I feel such a connection to so many on this forum. She reads the comments and looks at me and say's "Your right, they really are special people" And my answer is so predictable. I simply nod and say, I told you...I will be dmailing for some addresses some time toward the end of winter. I still want to be here for the State Fair to enter Billy Bob along with some pic's of Little Billy Bob from Kingman, Az...Hay
Do we have to enter our names in a lottery to see who gets the first visit. LOL Beware. My DH may ask you to preach while you are here. LOL
presenting God's word, and letting it speak for itself is such a powerful tool. I wrap my heart around the truth that the scripture teaches us that we are epistles read of all men. It's not so much what I say but how I live my life and model it before all manner of men...I am praying for hubby' speedy recovery and that you might find some relief from your burden...Hay
It's so true that "we are the only Bible some people will ever read".
