I want a ferret.

What? That sure seems like it came out of the blue LOL!

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Cute little beggars, Rita. Congrats and my condolences for the losses.

Ferrets are thieves and they stink.

(Zone 6b)

Thanks Cajun, talk some sense to me.

They have a bunch of ferretts here in a cage for sale at out local Petsmart. I guess they must sell or they wouldn't have them. They just don't appeal to me, sorry.

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

They are weasels and they kill chickens. Nuff said. LOL

I must say this busiuness of learning about the wing feathers has been a total failure for me. I can't see any significant difference between the boys and the girls. Bummer :-((

Eatonton, GA(Zone 8b)

But they are adorable and Healthy Chicks Rita! Good Going!

(Zone 5b)

I don't get the feather thing either no matter how I study it. I guess you have to have a talented eye and lots of experience to know the difference. I'm just post pics and have the experts guess for me LOL

North Shore of L. I., NY(Zone 6b)

Me too, I will let people who know what they are doing figgure it out. It is all a big mystery to me :-(( Oh well, at least a good excuse to post pictures if nothing else.

Richmond, TX

I still think I can see the difference: the pullet's primary flight feathers (or what will be the primaries) are longer than the secondaries. The little rooster's feathers are all nearly the same length. You could line a ruler up along their ends.

(Zone 5b)

I like any excuse to see what everyone is hatching. There have been so many beautiful & healthy looking chicks

So does anyone have plans to incubate again soon? If so what breed and how many eggs?

Eatonton, GA(Zone 8b)

Annie I think we all have the Itch to hatch , but with Winter here, I dont think many of us have the inside room for more hatches before Spring! I know I dont! I have a wonderful Brooder/Rabbit hutch outside in the Barn, but I just cannot put little itty Bittys out there ! I would worry myself to death about them! I would have to have at least 5 more 30 gallon Aaquariums with the wire Snake lids. Take out my Queen size Bed in The guest room, install work tables and two more outlets. Then I could hatch all Winter..........Hmmmmmm..................Doesnt sound like such a bad Idea!!!!!

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

No hatching here til Spring. My bators are in their boxes packed away down cellar.
