Group of them . . .

Daily Bird Pictures, Vol. 356
They're beautiful Resin!
Wow, duc those pics are wonderful. You should see my lousy kite pictures. You totally deserved your win. As I recall, you won or placed in more than one category so congrats on that.
Congrats to everyone who won or placed especially Mrs. Ed on 3rd in the Weird category. That was my favorite category! Great purple finch too.
Great start Dave. I love the bluebird in the rain.
Nanny, really great shots!
Resin, BEAUTIFUL! Love that group shot.
Can't get this Cooper's Hawk to leave. The bluejays are screeching even as I type this. He went down into all the bushes and even hopped around on the ground. He's determined.
Wonderful winning photographs all of you bird people.
That's funny about the Cooper's Hawk.
Nice on the snow buntings Resin. Those are supposed to be in my area in the winter, and I have not found them yet.
Thanks Elphalba. I still miss that little ducky.
Nice shots Mrs Ed! Love the Purple Finch.
Duc, That's a beauty of the Red-breasted Nuthatch!
Resin, Love seeing the Snow Buntings! I hear reports about them in NJ.
Elphaba, Lovely shot of the handsome Coopers!
First, congrats to you Mrs. Ed for placing!!! I admit I did not check winners in all catagories.
Neat kite shot duc!!
Resin ...Snow Buntings are nice and on my wish list to see someday!
Glad you are seeing hummer GP!
Trying to get back in the habit of walking my half mile in the morning. Something I have avoided since Buddy died. Yesterday I had this very nagging feeling to go. It was like someone/something was pushing me to go, so I finally gave up and went.
This was the highlight from yesterday's morning. A Barred Owl sleeping!
Elphaba, your hawk must be seeing something good on the ground, but I do know you'd like to see your birds when it moves on. You forgot to mention your beautiful wildflowers in the contest-great job!
Mrs Ed, you also had some beautiful butterfly photos in the contest! Congrats!
GP, your hummer shots are beautiful. That wp sure is cute and the grackle looks happy with the seeds.
Nanny, I was to walk with you!! That owl is beautiful! I'd have been freaked too, but you got great photos!
The Western Bluebirds usually come to the vines when the sun is the worst, but this one landed on an apple tree first.
Burd, thanks, great photos. Were those blackbirds with the hawk? I can't imagine what the poor thing was thinking. Great job with the wp take off and I love the titmouse!
LOL!!!!!!
LOL! It's an american saying Resin!! LOL!
Nanny, that's a very pretty FOS sparrow-congrats. All your birds look fluffy and cold. It's probably warmer here than where you are, but I'm still freezing in the low 50's.
Very nice contributions everyone.
Nanny, that was quite a reward for your effort to go for a walk!!!
Burd great capture of the Red-tailed Hawk with company. Starlings?
Duc, love the expression of your Audubon's Warbler, so cute.
The Blue Jays rules the yard, right now. I don't see the winter birds yet, but my SIL has the Rose-breasted Grosbeaks and Evening Grosbeaks just down the road from me. She has a small wooded area, behind her house. They are close.
Resin, I'm surprise the Snow Buntings has already arrived there.
They've been around for at least 3 weeks, it's just the first opportunity I had to go for them. Late October is a normal arrival time for them. Of course being at 55°N they have less distance to come from their breeding grounds - they are likely from Norway (700km) but could be from Iceland (1300km). In both cases, over water, so they have to do it in a single flight with no breaks. Looking at the American breeding range, yours would have to come 1800-2000km, so they'll do it in several stages, taking a lot longer over it.
