The last thread featured some pretty good stuff but it has reached the load limit and it's time to start a new one. If you should want to go back to it, here is the link: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1140336/
It's raining here today so everything is wet and gloomy and the smart birds are hunkered down somewhere, trying to stay dry. So I will start with a happier shot from a few weeks ago.
Daily Bird Pictures, Vol. 356

Your DH did wonderful Wild Rose!!
WC...I love that shot! ;)
Only thing about that video I hated, I miss our little l;ady so much. He was in the right place at the right time, you see, we are not the only people who love these tiny birds! They are so beautiful and graceful, how can you not love them. I bet he will have fun with that bird for some time to come. Pretty wet around here today, wind is up to, got up last night to check and see if the feeder had blown down, it was still up there, swinging back and forth. Do you think if we used more Sunflower Seed we could get different birds, the last time I saw a new bird was the female flicker. I like the sparrows, but it seems like that is all we get. Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks
Love that video! Thanks for sharing!
Hi kc, All I use is Sunflower seeds (in and out of the shell) and Suet. We get a good variety of birds but sometimes you just have to be looking at the right time to see the ones besides sparrows and finches.
That is a sweet video!

KC, it really does seem to be your location and sometimes just luck I think. I have two chickadees that are faithful here, but rarely do I have more than that. I did not have the red-bellied woodpeckers all summer, but they have returned now.
Here's a few articles I put together on Birds. You might find them useful.

Dave, thanks for the new thread. You always have such beautiful photos. Love that last wet bb shot and your grumpy ladies are just the cutest!
Burd, that hawk was looking straight at you.
Nanny, your starling is so pretty. I still can't get mine to come to any of my feeders.
VA, thanks. Your husband did a fantastic job with that nuthatch-such pretty colors in the background.
WC, love that photo of the mallard. The fall colors sure brighten up the photos.
MrsEd, your little goldfinch is cute. Hope you'll mark your calendar to see if it returns next year. I've done that with mine and was so surprised they'd arrived about the same time.
I put an old log out on a table a few days ago and just put some nuts and sunflower seeds on top. It sure attracts a lot of birds.
