Hi
It is so pretty here in the piedmont of NC that I thought I'd share some photos taken from various rooms.... Would love to see some of yours. I am sorry I didn't think to start this thread earlier because I know some areas have already past their 'peak' fall colors.... but then again... there is hardly a time when our views aren't special no matter the season. So this thread isn't about Autumn - but just about that little pot outside your front door, the bird sitting on the wire, or the mountain view your share your morning coffee with.
PS Happy Thanksgiving to All!
A View From....
Well...I'm no photographer that is obvious.....

Just beautiful and a great idea for a thread....
The past several years - with drought condtions and poor timing for cold snaps/mornings --the fall colors have been underwhelming ...and I expected the same this year...but we have had a great week already... so pretty. While looking at the foliage from various windows -- I began thinking about how I look forward to seeing the world through each. Although out here in the rural buffer --- I do miss seeing people through my windows. When I lived in Brooklyn and in Queens NY - the view wasn't 'picture perfect' but I enjoyed having my morning coffee and watching the clothes on the wash lines snapping in the wind between apartment houses ...the flowers on the fire escapes (and a lot else!!) and folks hurrying to catch the morning train ...just steps from my door. (I couldn't see the train above me....but I could sure feel it!)
I am hoping folks will post a photo of their views. The threads get posted so fast that the risk is high for a quick 'burial' (grin) but maybe a few will see and post. (Would love some city scenes too!)
Those fellas coming to dinner ?
Your photo reminds me of home (upstate ny) makes me a little homesick. Thanks for posting it.
My colors are still good but not "zowie" had a big storm most leaves are on the ground.
Yes, I think they were gathering for a meal, but I couldn't see what it was back there in the woods. Ended up with about 30 of them in the trees. Looks a little like an Alfred Hitchcock movie, doesn't it?
Yes, we had a storm and our leaves fell too.
Yeah - that Hitchcock movie terrified me as a kid
that one and House on Haunted Hill..... wooooooooo
We share similiar weather patterns. We've got more ice now than snow. Merry Christmas to you. (At least we can make lemonade from lemons with this weather!) I sure miss my garden and the worst photo that I could have taken but have not is the lorapetulum laying on its side ---still with red and green from autumn and a few flowers too!! I grew that shrub and trained it as a tree and it was beautiful... it is torn right out of the base. I am so sad.
Here you are showing all that snow in Hillsborough NC and I sit here in Hillsborough NH with nothing but a dusting!!!!
Somethings really screwy here!
Global Warming!!!
Nothing is built for that here tho. All the plantings don't take that under consideration. The schools close. People slide into each other on the roads. We have to wear twelve layers of clothing because winter clothes at a minimum (snow clothes anyway) and let me tell you without going into too much detail...... when I gotta go...I gotta go.....and all those layers don't help much when I am 'dancing' in the bathroom ---- just pray no dancing while sneezing!
Depend on the depends!!!!!
That would never survive up here that's for sure. Sorry it didn't make it....
it still looks green beneath.. is it frozen?? a lot of water in it for sure.
I'd be afraid of it rotting on the inside and that not showing on the outside...
I think the real problem came because it poured rain so plants were full of water and then the temps plunged that night freezing everything. I'll see what happens. Right now, I have a couple like that. Am now rethinking plants for the cactus and succulent garden. :)
